Swiss Federal Councillor, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Ignazio Cassis visited Icherisheher during his official trip to Azerbaijan.
The guest was welcomed by Rufat Mahmud, chairman of the Icherisheher administration's board, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
During the visit, Cassis toured the Maiden Tower, the Shirvanshahs' Palace Complex and the Sirataghli religious and architectural complex.
He was also briefed on Icherisheher's rich historical and cultural heritage, ongoing restoration and preservation efforts, and measures aimed at boosting its tourism potential.
