Armenia's National Assembly has elected ruling Civil Contract party lawmaker Hayk Konjoryan as Deputy Speaker of Parliament, filling one of the legislature's senior leadership positions.


Konjoryan secured the post with the support of 63 lawmakers, while 28 members voted against his nomination Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.


Konjoryan has led the Civil Contract parliamentary faction since 2021 and is regarded as one of the ruling party's senior figures in the National Assembly.


His appointment comes as part of the parliament's ongoing leadership reshuffle, reinforcing the governing party's presence in the chamber's top leadership.
