Syrian Airlines will resume flights between Damascus and Moscow starting August 16, the carrier has said in a statement posted on X.

This comes after Russia's Transport Ministry recently discussed expanding its route network in the Middle East, Caliber.Az reports.

Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin previously confirmed that Russian airlines were fully prepared to resume flights to destinations in the region.

"Starting August 16, we will operate flights to the Russian capital," the airline noted.
