Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed the situation in the Persian Gulf during a phone call.
"Both sides stressed the importance of an immediate cessation of hostilities and the swift resumption of the negotiation process on the basis of the Islamabad Memorandum signed on June 17," the Russian Foreign Ministry said following the conversation, Caliber.Az reports.
The ministry added that the two officials also held detailed discussions on key areas for the further development of the traditionally friendly relations between Russia and Qatar.
