Swiss Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ignazio Cassis, has highlighted Switzerland's support for the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process following talks in Baku with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
Cassis shared details of the visit in a post on X, emphasizing the strong bilateral relationship between Switzerland and Azerbaijan and the potential to expand cooperation across several sectors, Caliber.Az reports.
“Glad to meet again with FM Bayramov Jeyhun, this time in Baku.
I started my visit by paying tribute at the Alley of Martyrs to those who lost their lives during Azerbaijan’s struggle to restore its independence.
🇨🇭 & 🇦🇿 enjoy strong bilateral ties, with significant potential to further deepen our cooperation in trade, innovation and other areas of shared interest.
I welcomed the positive momentum towards peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We also discussed our cooperation within the OSCE to promote security and stability across the region,” Cassis said in a post.
