BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. OSCE can provide
support to Azerbaijan in combating the mine threat and implement
special projects in this area, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun
Bayramov said at a joint briefing with Member of the Federal
Council of Switzerland and Head of the Federal Department of
Foreign Affairs, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ignazio Cassis, in
Baku today, Trend's correspondent reports from the event.


The minister noted that the importance of the "green ports"
project in the Caspian Sea region was also discussed at the
meeting.


According to him, this project is of great importance in terms
of the development of transport and transit infrastructure,
expansion of relations, and economic growth. "We believe that the
OSCE can and should play a positive role in this direction,"
Bayramov emphasized.


The minister pointed out that one of the most serious challenges
for Azerbaijan is the problem of mine danger and unexploded
ordnance. "We believe that the OSCE, as an international
organization with experience in this field, can support Azerbaijan
and implement special projects. Today, we have once again brought
our expectations to the attention of the other side," he said.


Bayramov added that during today's talks, views were also
exchanged on the Russia-Ukraine war, the situation in the Middle
East, and other regional issues of mutual interest.
