Ignazio Cassis, Switzerland's Federal Councillor, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and the current Chairperson-in-Office of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), visited Martyrs' Lane in Baku on August 4 as part of his official visit to Azerbaijan.
During the visit, Cassis laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame memorial and paid tribute to those who lost their lives in defence of Azerbaijan's independence and territorial integrity, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
He was also briefed on the history and significance of Martyrs' Lane, one of Azerbaijan's principal national memorials, as well as ongoing construction and urban development projects in the capital.
