BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 4. Uzbekistan and
Russia's Republic of Tatarstan agreed to deepen cooperation in the
agro-industrial sector during a meeting between officials and
business representatives in Kazan.
This was reflected in the statement by the Chamber of Commerce
and Industry of Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber
of Commerce and Industry Odiljon Rustamov and included
representatives of Uzbekistan's Consulate General in Kazan. The
Tatarstan side was represented by Deputy Minister of Agriculture
and Food Rustem Gainullov.
The talks focused on expanding cooperation between businesses
from Uzbekistan and Tatarstan, implementing joint projects in the
agro-industrial sector and strengthening trade and investment
ties.
"The agreements reached during the meeting are expected to
strengthen practical cooperation between the business communities
of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan, facilitate the implementation of new
joint projects and contribute to increasing bilateral trade," the
chamber said in a statement.
The parties discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in
agricultural processing, the food industry, logistics and
investment, highlighting the potential for broader collaboration
across the agro-industrial value chain.
The sides also emphasized the importance of creating new export
opportunities and promoting closer engagement between companies
from the two regions.
According to the chamber, both sides expressed interest in
advancing practical cooperation through new investment initiatives
and commercial partnerships aimed at increasing trade and
supporting the development of value-added agricultural
production.
The meeting reflects Uzbekistan's broader strategy of
strengthening regional economic partnerships with Russian regions
by expanding industrial and agricultural cooperation, attracting
investment and creating new export opportunities for domestic
producers.
