BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. Annual inflation in
Kazakhstan slowed to 10.2% in July 2026, while monthly price growth
stood at 0.6%, according to the Ministry of Economy.

The July monthly increase was lower than the figures recorded in
the same month of the previous two years, when prices rose by 0.7%
in both July 2025 and July 2024.

The government said the slowdown in inflation was supported by
measures implemented jointly with the National Bank of Kazakhstan
and the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial
Market aimed at containing price growth, maintaining macroeconomic
stability and improving household welfare.

Food prices remained the main factor contributing to the
moderation of inflation. Annual food inflation slowed to 10.1% in
July, while prices for socially significant food products increased
by only 2.4%, which is 7 percentage points lower than a year
earlier, when the growth rate stood at 9.4%.

According to the authorities, the result was supported by
measures including expanding the list of socially significant food
products. "This result was achieved through a set of measures,
including expanding the list of socially significant food products
from 19 to 31 types, constantly monitoring compliance with the
maximum 15% trade markup, identifying and reducing unproductive
intermediaries, saturating the domestic market with domestic
products and ensuring the availability of food products," the
ministry noted.

At the same time, the overall slowdown in inflation continued
despite the impact of factors related to the gradual liberalization
of the fuel market and the end of the moratorium on increases in
regulated utility tariffs.

These factors continued to put pressure mainly on non-food
prices, with annual growth in this category reaching 11.7% in
July.
