The United Kingdom’s newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, Duncan Norman, marked Azerbaijani Alphabet and Language Day by delivering a literary tribute, reciting an excerpt from Ana dili, a celebrated poem by national poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzade.
The video message was shared on the ambassador’s official account on the social media platform X, as per Caliber.Az.
“I express my warmest congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of August 1 — Azerbaijani Alphabet and Language Day, and also express my respect for the rich literary heritage embodied in the Azerbaijani language,” Norman said.
