Ukrainian forces carried out overnight strikes on two oil refineries in Russia, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a Telegram post marking Ukraine’s Constitution Day.

“On Ukraine’s Constitution Day, our warriors began very precisely. Tonight, our long-range sanctions reached two oil refineries in Russia,” Zelenskyy stated.

According to him, the targets included the Slavyansk Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar region, located roughly 300 km from the front line, as well as another refinery in the Yaroslavl region, about 700 km from the Ukrainian border.

Zelenskyy said such operations weaken Russia’s ability to sustain its war effort.

“Each of our long-range sanctions reduces the resources feeding the Russian military machine and brings us one step closer to peace. We will continue to respond to Russian terror,” he added.
