The government of Bahrain has accused Iran of carrying out missile and drone strikes on its territory and has called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

The ministry urged the Security Council to ensure the implementation of Resolution 2817 (2026) and to secure “an end to this ongoing aggression,” as well as “hold those responsible accountable.”

According to Bahraini officials, Iran bears “sole responsibility for violating the commitments” it undertook when signing a memorandum with the United States and for “undermining the remaining opportunities to achieve stability in the region.”

The statement comes amid escalating tensions following recent exchanges between Iran and US-aligned targets in the Gulf region.
