A tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Coordination Centre said, adding that the vessel's crew was unharmed.
According to UKMTO, the vessel's master reported that the projectile hit the tanker, causing damage to the ship's bridge, Caliber.Az reports.
The agency said all crew members were safe and that no environmental damage had been reported.
UKMTO advised vessels operating in the area to exercise increased caution while transiting the Strait of Hormuz and to report any suspicious activity to the organisation.
Authorities are investigating the incident, and the circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear.
