The United Arab Emirates has welcomed a framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel brokered by the United States, describing it as a positive step towards strengthening Lebanese sovereignty, a senior Emirati official said.
Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE president, said the deal marked “an important and positive step” towards restoring the Lebanese state’s full authority over its territory, in a post on social media platform X.
“For decades, the Lebanese people have suffered the consequences of other people’s conflicts on their land and have paid a high price for it,” Gargash said, adding that reinforcing state authority and sovereignty remained “the true guarantee of stability and Lebanon’s future.”
