Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces carried out a long-range strike overnight on a defence industrial facility in Russia’s Volgograd region, which he described as involved in producing military equipment used in the war.

In a statement on Telegram, Zelenskyy said FP-5 “Flamingo” missiles had hit the Titan-Barricades plant in Volgograd, adding that the site was part of Russia’s defence-industrial base and was used to manufacture artillery systems and components for rocket launch systems.

He said impacts were recorded and a fire had broken out at the facility, and praised Ukrainian forces for what he described as the precision of the operation.

“Every facility of Russia’s defence industry involved in the war against Ukraine is a legitimate target for Ukrainian long-range strikes,” Zelenskyy said.
