Ukraine's military said Russia launched a large-scale overnight drone attack on June 27, deploying 129 unmanned aerial vehicles, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas strike drones, as well as Parodia decoy drones.
According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the attack was countered by the Ukrainian Air Force, air defence missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups, Caliber.Az reports.
The military said that, as of 8:30 a.m. local time, Ukrainian air defences had shot down or otherwise neutralised 113 drones across northern, southern, and eastern parts of the country.
Ukrainian authorities reported that 13 attack drones struck targets at seven locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell at three additional sites. The military did not immediately provide details on casualties or the extent of the damage.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine said the aerial assault was still ongoing, warning that Russian drones remained in Ukrainian airspace and urging residents to follow air raid safety measures.
