Baku has underlined the need to further strengthen cooperation between the customs authorities of Azerbaijan and China as freight volumes along the Middle Corridor continue to grow, officials said.
The issue was discussed during a meeting at the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan with China’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei.
According to the State Customs Committee, the talks focused on expanding institutional ties between the two countries’ customs services in response to increasing transit traffic across the strategic trade route linking Asia and Europe.
Both sides also exchanged views on capacity-building measures, the adoption of international best practices, and broader prospects for cooperation in the customs sphere.
