Russian air defence systems destroyed an additional 25 unmanned aerial vehicles on the morning of June 16, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced.


This brings the total number of drones reportedly shot down over the Moscow region during the morning to 60.


Flight restrictions remain in effect at all four airports of the Moscow aviation hub — Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, Vnukovo, and Sheremetyevo. 


According to Russia’s civil aviation authority, Rosaviatsia, Sheremetyevo Airport is continuing to handle arrivals and departures only with approval from the relevant authorities.
