The Palestinian movement Hamas has expressed gratitude to Russia for its support in addressing the Palestinian issue, according to remarks made during a meeting in Moscow.


Musa Abu Marzouk, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, conveyed the appreciation during talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenco, Russian state news agency TASS reported.


“Hamas is grateful to Russia for its diplomatic efforts, as well as for its support for our people in resolving the Palestinian issue,” Abu Marzouk said, according to a statement published on the movement’s Telegram channel.


During the meeting, Abu Marzouk also briefed the Russian official on the status of ongoing negotiations aimed at extending the current ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
