Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has outlined the country’s foreign policy priorities during a roundtable held at the Japan Institute of International Affairs as part of his official visit to Japan, according to a statement published by the Foreign Ministry on X.






“The discussion brought together experts, researchers, and representatives of the policy community.


Minister Bayramov briefed participants on Azerbaijan’s foreign policy priorities, economic development agenda, role in global energy security, and major transport and connectivity initiatives.


Being part of C6 format, the role of Azerbaijan in Central Asia through energy cooperation, transport connectivity, and multilateral diplomacy was highlighted.


The discussion also focused on the growing Azerbaijan-Japan partnership, opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, green energy, digital transformation, and innovation, as well as regional and international developments.


Minister has also informed participants about the history of former aggression and conflict unleashed against Azerbaijan, post-conflict situation and normalisation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” the ministry said.
