Iranian armed forces struck at least 70% of designated targets during retaliatory attacks on US military bases in the Middle East on June 9 night, the Fars news agency reports.

The report said preliminary assessments suggest that long-range ballistic missiles and drones launched by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were able to penetrate air defence systems deployed at US facilities.

According to the source, the strikes hit pre-designated targets in al-Azraq in Jordan, Ali Al Salem in Kuwait, and a base associated with the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.

“The Iranian armed forces hit at least 70% of designated targets during retaliatory strikes on US military bases in the Middle East on Wednesday night,” the agency reported, citing the unnamed source.

The source further added that initial data indicated approximately 70% of the munitions used in the operation successfully reached their intended targets.
