A fuel tank caught fire in Russia’s Rostov region following a drone attack overnight, regional authorities said.

Governor Yuri Slyusar said that air defence systems were engaged during an ongoing aerial attack on the region and successfully shot down drones in the Millerovo district, Caliber.Az reports.

According to Slyusar, debris from one of the intercepted drones fell onto a civilian facility, igniting a fuel tank. Emergency response teams and firefighting equipment were dispatched to the scene.

“No information regarding casualties has been received at this time,” the governor said in an initial statement.

Authorities later confirmed that the fire had been extinguished and that no casualties were reported. Further details about the extent of the damage were not immediately available.
