The Iranian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement warning of additional military action against US bases following recent developments.
In its statement, Iran said that the United States carried out attacks in southern Iran in the early hours of Wednesday, June 10, 2026, under the pretext of an Apache helicopter crash involving the US military over the Strait of Hormuz on the evening of June 9.
Tehran described the actions as a “blatant violation of the United Nations Charter” and fundamental international norms prohibiting the use of force, accusing Washington of demonstrating what it called a “criminal and warmongering nature.”
“In response to the US military actions against Iran and the clear violation of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country, the powerful Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, within the framework of exercising their inherent right to self-defence, have carried out powerful strikes on US bases and facilities in the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while strongly condemning US actions, once again reminds all countries in the region, especially the states on the southern coast of the Persian Gulf, of their legal and moral responsibility to prevent any use of their territory and capabilities by the US military and Israel for planning, organising, carrying out, and supporting military operations against Iran. The Ministry warns that Iran, in exercising its inherent right to self-defence, will immediately carry out retaliatory strikes against bases from which attacks are launched, as well as against logistical facilities used for conducting and supporting operations against Iran,” the statement read.
