The US military said it destroyed a vessel suspected of being involved in drug trafficking operations in the eastern Pacific Ocean, according to a statement from US Southern Command.
In a post published on X, US Southern Command said the strike was carried out on June 3 under the direction of its commander, General Francis L. Donovan, as per Caliber.Az.
The operation was conducted by Joint Task Force Southern Spear.
"On June 3, at the direction of SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organisations. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Two male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed," the statement said.
