The Czech Republic reduced its direct state budget expenditures related to the conflict in Ukraine in 2025, with spending falling by 2.1 billion Czech crowns (approximately €86.5 million) compared to the previous year, according to government data.
As reported by ČTK, the total amount of such expenditures reached 15.1 billion crowns (nearly €622 million), based on the government’s budget execution report.
The largest share of spending continued to be directed toward humanitarian assistance for Ukrainian refugees, totalling 8.8 billion crowns (€362.4 million). In addition, 4.1 billion crowns (€168.9 million) were allocated to the public health insurance system to cover Ukrainian citizens granted temporary protection.
At the same time, expenditures on housing support for refugees declined significantly.
The report also highlights a rise in employment among Ukrainians in the Czech Republic. The number of employed individuals increased by 39,000, reaching a total of 325,000.
According to ČTK, tax revenues generated by Ukrainian citizens during the first three quarters of 2025 amounted to approximately 23.2 billion crowns (€955.5 million), reflecting a growing contribution to the country’s public finances.
