Ukraine’s armed forces said Russia launched a large-scale overnight aerial assault involving a ballistic missile and more than 150 drones, as air defence systems worked across multiple regions of the country.
According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia fired an Iskander-M ballistic missile along with 154 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as decoy drones identified as Parodia, Caliber.Az reports.
Ukrainian air defence units, including missile forces, electronic warfare systems, unmanned units, and mobile fire groups, were deployed to counter the attack.
By 08:30 local time, Ukrainian officials said air defences had shot down or neutralized 131 drones over northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
Despite the interceptions, authorities reported that ballistic missile impacts and 23 attack drones struck 20 locations. Debris from downed drones was also recorded at six additional sites.
Ukrainian officials said the aerial assault was still ongoing at the time of reporting.
