An aerial incident involving an unmanned aerial vehicle was recorded in southern Estonia, and the drone was shot down, Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur told Delfi.
According to him, the drone was likely of Ukrainian origin and was headed toward targets on Russian territory.
After an air alert was declared in the Tartu area, the drone was shot down over Lake Võrtsjärv.
Sources said the circumstances of the incident are currently being clarified. Additional information is expected from the Air Force and Estonia’s Internal Security Service.
