Iran’s Ministry of Defence has rejected claims by US President Donald Trump that the country’s defence capabilities have been destroyed, insisting that significant military capacity remains intact.

Speaking on Monday, May 18, Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics, said that parts of Iran’s military capabilities have not yet been utilised and described the so-called “axis of resistance” as more unified than ever.

In remarks to Yemen’s Al Masirah television channel, Talaei-Nik accused Trump of repeatedly misrepresenting Iran’s military strength.

“Trump does not stop making false statements” about Iran’s military capabilities, he said.

He also issued a broader assessment of the confrontation with Washington, stating: “The prestige of the United States has collapsed at the hands of our forces.”
