Azerbaijan has hosted the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) at a high level, Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadegh, said in remarks delivered to participants of the ministerial roundtable held within the framework of WUF13 in Baku.


The message was read by the minister’s deputy for urban development and architecture, Gholamreza Kazemian, according to local media.


"I would like to express my gratitude to the Government of Azerbaijan for organizing WUF13 at a high level. We have achieved significant progress in these areas in the development of sustainable urbanization.


First, the expansion of urban infrastructure and the reduction of multidimensional deprivations; second, urban regeneration programs based on active community participation in underserved neighborhoods; third, strengthening risk management and resilience mechanisms in response to climate change; fourth, advancing renewable energy and smart city initiatives within the framework of cooperation with international partners," was emphasized in the Iranian minister's address.


It was also noted that the reconstruction of war-affected areas in Iran is currently the top national priority.
