BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 17. We expect real
policies and solutions to the global housing crisis to be
formulated here in Baku, Anaclaudia Rossbach, Executive Director of
the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), told
journalists on the sidelines of WUF13, Trend reports.

She stated that the world is currently experiencing a global
housing crisis, which stands at the very center of the forum's
agenda.

"Over these few days in Baku, we expect the formulation of
policies and solutions that will enable people to overcome the
housing crisis they face. This crisis affects individuals living in
informal settlements, those who cannot afford to buy a home or pay
rent, as well as those experiencing homelessness," she said.

Rossbach emphasized that extensive cooperation is vital to
solving this pressing global challenge: "We need everyone—the
private sector, civil society, local authorities, and robust
national policies. We can only resolve this crisis by working
together."

Concluding her statement, the UN-Habitat head expressed her
gratitude to Baku for hosting the landmark event.
