President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and other heads of state participating in the informal summit of the Organisation of Turkic States took part in an online foundation-laying ceremony for the planned Centre of Turkic Civilisation on May 15 .

During the event, leaders were briefed on the concept and objectives of the centre, which is designed to preserve, study, and promote the historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage of Turkic peoples, Caliber.Az reports via the presidential website.

The project—expected to be built in line with advanced architectural and technological standards—aims to highlight the Turkic world’s contribution to global history, its philosophical traditions, and its legacy of statehood.

The ceremony was followed by a presentation on “GovTech” digital solutions, with particular focus on artificial intelligence initiatives being developed in Kazakhstan. Participants were informed about ongoing digital governance projects and potential areas for expanded cooperation among Turkic states in the technology sector.
