Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Tehran is prepared to discuss a Russian proposal to transfer enriched uranium to Russian territory, but at a later stage.

Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Araghchi said he met with President Vladimir Putin and discussed the issue among other things, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

“Discussions on this topic with the Russian side will take place later, not now,” he noted.

Araghchi made it clear that Iran’s nuclear programme is exclusively peaceful, stressing that Tehran has never sought to develop nuclear weapons.

“Iran has never wanted to possess nuclear weapons. We have repeatedly said that we do not want an atomic bomb. We only have a peaceful nuclear programme,” he added.
