Ukraine and Russia have exchanged the bodies of fallen military personnel, with Russia handing over 526 Ukrainian servicemen and receiving 41 Russian soldiers in return.
Earlier, it was reported that the two sides also carried out a prisoner exchange, with each side transferring 205 individuals, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Returning Russian servicemen are currently in Belarus, where they are receiving medical and psychological assistance.
In May, US President Donald Trump said he had proposed to Moscow and Kyiv a prisoner exchange on a “1,000 for 1,000” basis, in connection with a ceasefire declared in honour of Victory Day.
Russia supported Trump’s initiative.
