Israeli military forces said they opened fire during an incident involving stone-throwing at vehicles in the northern West Bank on May 15, resulting in one fatality and at least one injury.

According to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), soldiers from Unit 636 were operating near the village of Luban al-Sharqiya in the area the Israeli military refers to as Samaria when they observed three individuals throwing stones at vehicles on a main road, Caliber.Az reports.

The IDF said troops responded by firing at the suspects, killing one masked individual. A second person was reportedly wounded, while a third fled the scene. Israeli forces subsequently launched a search operation for the remaining suspects.
