Yevgeny Stanislavov, Russia’s ambassador to Hungary, has held his first meeting with the country’s new Foreign Minister Anita Orban, during which the situation in Ukraine was discussed.
The meeting lasted around 25 minutes, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The Hungarian Foreign Ministry declined to provide further comment on the talks, while Stanislavov did not speak to journalists waiting outside the ministry. The encounter marked the first official contact between the ambassador and Orban, who was appointed to the post on May 12.
It is noted that on May 13, Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar said that the Russian ambassador would be summoned to the Foreign Ministry. The move was linked to reports of explosions in Ukraine’s Transcar
