Former US National Security Adviser to President Donald Trump, John Bolton, has stated that negotiations with Iran over a nuclear deal are pointless.

“Negotiating a nuclear deal with Iran is a waste of oxygen. These people long ago made a strategic decision to get nuclear weapons. There is not a single piece of evidence in 47 years that they've given that strategic objective up,” Bolton stressed.

Bolton further claimed that Iran’s actions over decades reflect a deliberate and sustained nuclear ambition.

“They have pursued it in a variety of ways. They've lied, they've cheated, they've violated every agreement they've signed. They've demonstrated their willingness to do thinking outside the box to get nuclear weapons, including building a replica of the North Korean reactor at Yongbyon in the Syrian desert, fortunately discovered and bombed by the Israelis in September of 2007,” he added.
