An Israeli citizen has been arrested on suspicion of cooperating with Iranian entities, said the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), which carried out the operation in coordination with the Israel Police.

The suspect, identified as Ahmad Fawaz Abdel Aziz Daas, a resident of the city of Tira, is alleged to have maintained contact with what authorities described as a hostile element during a period in which Israel is in a state of war.

According to a statement from the Israel Police spokesperson’s office, investigators found that the suspect transmitted sensitive information.

“An investigation by Shin Bet and the police revealed that Daas maintained contact with a hostile element while the State of Israel is in a state of war. As part of this interaction, the suspect sent coordinates and photographs of military facilities and other strategic locations in Israel — information that could have caused real harm to the security of the state and its citizens.

Upon completion of the investigation, the Central District prosecution filed a serious indictment in court,” the statement said.
