US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping agreed that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open to ensure the free flow of energy, Iran International reports, citing the White House.

The statement followed their meeting, in which both leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining stability in global energy transit routes.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on May 14 that the Strait of Hormuz remained open to commercial vessels cooperating with Iran, while blaming the United States for disruptions in the waterway.
