United States Central Command said on X that a U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II conducted a patrol over regional waters near the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the statement, the fifth-generation stealth fighter was operating in the strategically sensitive waterway area.
CENTCOM also noted that the F-35A is capable of carrying up to 18,000 pounds (over 8 tonnes) of ordnance while maintaining supersonic flight performance.
