The United Arab Emirates has added 16 individuals and five entities to its Local Terrorist List over alleged links to Lebanon-based Hezbollah, under a new Cabinet resolution aimed at strengthening counterterrorism and anti–terror financing measures.
The designation was issued under Cabinet Resolution No. (63) of 2026, with the UAE Cabinet approving the inclusion of the individuals and organisations on the Local Terrorist List in line with national laws and regulations, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
According to the authorities, the move forms part of the country’s ongoing efforts, domestically and internationally, to disrupt and dismantle networks linked to the financing of terrorism and related activities, whether directly or indirectly.
Under the resolution, all regulatory authorities are required to identify any individuals or entities connected through financial or commercial relationships with those listed, and to take necessary measures in line with applicable UAE laws, including freezing assets within 24 hours.
The decision underscores what the UAE described as its firm and longstanding commitment to combating terrorism and extremism in all forms, as well as preventing the financing of terrorist organisations, as part of broader efforts to enhance security and stability and address threats to regional and international peace.
The UAE said it continues to intensify counterterrorism efforts through a comprehensive approach combining security and ideological measures, alongside monitoring financial channels and disrupting sources of illicit funding.
