Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has received the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Fergus Auld, as the envoy concludes his diplomatic mission in the country.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bayramov expressed appreciation for Auld’s contribution to the advancement of Azerbaijan–UK relations and welcomed the steady development of bilateral cooperation during his tenure.
The sides reviewed the current state and prospects of ties between Baku and London, with discussions spanning political dialogue, economic cooperation, energy security, green energy transition, trade and investment, education, humanitarian engagement, and regional security issues.
Both parties underlined the importance of sustained political consultations, high-level exchanges, and reciprocal visits in deepening the partnership.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional developments, including the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalisation process and ongoing post-conflict reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts, alongside other matters of mutual interest at bilateral and multilateral levels.
Ambassador Auld expressed gratitude for the support extended throughout his diplomatic service in Azerbaijan. Minister Bayramov, in turn, wished him success in his future assignments.
