Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated that a “serious discussion” was held at the country’s Defence Ministry following an inspection of the Belarusian armed forces, after which certain shortcomings were defined.
Lukashenko said there was no need to hide the shortcomings, but also no reason to put them on full display, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“It is not common for people to speak poorly about the armed forces anywhere. But we handled this more openly than the leadership of other countries. Perhaps that is the right approach — people should see that we are not going to hide anything,” the Belarusian leader noted.
