Russia’s Defence Ministry said on May on 10 that Russian forces in the frontline continue to observe the declared ceasefire while remaining at previously occupied positions.
In a statement issued on the evening, the ministry accused Ukrainian forces of carrying out drone and artillery strikes against Russian military positions and civilian targets despite the ceasefire arrangement, Caliber.Az report.
According to the ministry, the alleged attacks targeted areas in Crimea, as well as Russia’s Belgorod, Kursk, Kaluga, and Rostov regions, and the Krasnodar territory.
“Despite the declaration of a ceasefire, Ukrainian armed formations carried out strikes using UAVs and artillery against the positions of our troops, as well as against civilian facilities,” the ministry said. It added that Russian forces responded to ceasefire violations by launching retaliatory strikes against multiple-launch rocket system positions, artillery units, mortars, command posts, and drone launch sites.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia was continuing military operations despite the ceasefire claims.
Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine had refrained from conducting new long-range strikes on Russian territory because Moscow had not launched massive attacks. He said Kyiv would continue to follow a “tit-for-tat” approach in responding to Russian actions.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader warned that if Russia resumes large-scale strikes, Ukraine’s response would be “immediately felt.”
