Citizens who voluntarily relocate to regions facing labour shortages in Kazakhstan will be eligible for up to 7 million tenge ($15000) to purchase a home under an expanded government support program.
The Kazakh government has updated its voluntary relocation program, introducing higher financial assistance for people willing to move to regions experiencing workforce shortages, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
According to the Ministry of Labour, one of the key changes is an increase in the economic mobility certificate, which will now provide up to 1,625 monthly calculation indices (MCI), equivalent to approximately 7 million tenge.
Recipients will be able to use the funds to purchase their own homes.
The ministry said that participants in the program will receive compensation for relocation expenses, rental housing, and utility costs, while authorities will assist them in securing employment.
"The main goal of these changes is to help citizens not only relocate to a different region, but also settle in comfortably, acquire their own housing, and establish themselves in their new community," the ministry's press service noted.
Officials also announced that the program's eligibility criteria have been expanded. Previously aimed primarily at unemployed citizens, the initiative will now also be available to skilled professionals whose expertise is in demand.
