Two people were killed and 51 others injured when a passenger bus overturned in the Afghan province of Herat, local police have stated.


The crash occurred on Thursday night, May 7, in the Adraskan district, with authorities stating that excessive speed was the primary cause of the accident, Caliber.Az reports, citing Afghan media.


Injured passengers were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment.


Police have called on passenger transport drivers to strictly follow traffic laws and avoid speeding and dangerous driving.
