Ebrahim Rezaei, a member of Iran’s Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, issued sharp criticism of the United States over tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, accusing Washington of failing to project power in the strategic waterway.

In a post published on X, Rezaei mocked the US leadership, writing, “With this president and that idiot of a defence minister, I think we should start saying USI instead of USA: United States of IDIOTS," Caliber.Az reports.

He also claimed that US naval vessels had unsuccessfully attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, warning that even a larger American naval deployment would not be able to secure passage through the route.

“This fool has already tried twice to pass through the Strait of Hormuz with a few frigates and destroyers,” Rezaei wrote. “We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: forget about a couple of frigates and ships—you won’t be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz even with your entire fleet.”
