BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 7. The Parliament of
Azerbaijan has been granted observer status in the Parliamentary
Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), the statement of the
parliament says, Trend reports.


In this regard, a ceremony was held within the framework of the
the 1st Summit of Speakers and Presidents of Parliament of PAM
Member and Partner States.


Speaking at the summit, the Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker
Sahiba Gafarova thanked and highly appreciated the decision to
grant the observer status in the organization.


She said that participation in the PAM creates new broad
opportunities for further strengthening and developing relations
with the member parliaments.
