Azerbaijan and Türkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral defence cooperation during the fifth International Defence and Aerospace Exhibition, SAHA-2026, held in Istanbul.
As part of the exhibition, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Defence Industry, Hidayat Azimov, held meetings with Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s Defence Industry Committee Hakan Karataş, as well as executives from İstanbul Teknopark, Yıldız Teknopark and SSTEK, and rectors of several leading Turkish universities, Caliber.Az reports via the ministry.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence Industry, the discussions focused on expanding Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation in the defence sector, developing innovative technologies, and exploring opportunities for joint research and exchange of expertise.
The sides also discussed strengthening human capital, training qualified specialists, and further enhancing ties between defence industry enterprises and academic institutions in both countries.
The meetings highlighted the growing strategic partnership between Baku and Ankara in defence production, technological development, and military-industrial cooperation.
