Ararat Mirzoyan has been awarded the rank of Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour, one of France’s highest state distinctions, by decree of French President Emmanuel Macron.

The award was conferred in recognition of Mirzoyan’s contributions and service,  Armenpress reports, citing the Armenian Foreign Ministry.

The Legion of Honour (Légion d'honneur) is the highest French national order, established by Napoleon Bonaparte on May 19, 1802. The distinction is awarded for outstanding military or civil achievements and is considered one of the most prestigious honours in France.
