Passage through the Strait of Hormuz would be impossible without recognition of the Islamic Republic’s authority over the strategic waterway, an Iranian lawmaker Ghasem Ravanbakhsh has stated.
Ravanbakhsh said the United States has no alternative but to accept a “new legal regime” in the strait, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iran International.
He added that the White House had attempted to use proxy forces and the United Arab Emirates to create an alternative route for energy supplies to the United States and Europe, but had encountered what he described as the “power” of the Islamic Republic.
